A Trip to Grandma's for Thanksgiving Holidays

Every Thanksgiving, we would visit Grandma and Papa for the holiday as a little girl. It seemed as if it would take us forever to reach Grandma's house.

When we arrived Grandma and Papa would be standing on the porch waiting anxiously to see us.  They were two of the most beautiful people in the world.  My two brothers and I would race to be the first to get a hug from our grandparents.

"Hi, Grandma," I said as I ran to be the first to get a hug.

"Well, hello dear," she said as she hugged me.  Our mother and father were just as excited as we were.  It would be a glorious holiday.

Thanksgiving is a special time at Grandma's.  Beautiful and wonderful decorations are all around the house.  What a wonderful place to be during the holidays.  The turkey is roasting in the oven.  She has plenty of cakes and pies.  She knows how much I love her cooking.  Grandma and Papa told us stories about their childhood while we drank hot chocolate around the fireplace.  We heard the same stories year after year.  They never got old.  It was if you learned something new each time the stories were told.

Grandma's Homemade Stew Recipe

The family loves her stew. It is one of my favorite meals.
